Optional Enrichment Activities

Overview: The goal of these activities is to stay engaged academically while away for an uncertain amount of time.  These activities are completely optional!

Choose activities to practice math skills

  • Think Central - I will set up weekly Math "ideas" on Think Central.  These are a review of standards we have already covered this school year.

  • Kahn Academy - Here is a link to grade level concepts. Students can click on any standard, view a tutorial that will review the skill, and then they practice it.  When we left school, we were working on Algebra: Patterns & Graphing.  Students can review Coordinate Plane and review any other concepts, so they stay fresh.

  • Independent Reading:   - Choose a book of your own to read.

  • It looks like Reading Counts is open for you to test from home, during school hours

Or you can read a book from Epic for FREE

(Tons of books available online, and the kids can even have books read TO them; there are also videos and quizzes. I have set up an account for our students, click on the link below and get started!

Use these writing prompts for 5th-grade students to help kids express themselves and grow more comfortable with their own thoughts and ideas.

Moby Max has some ideas and concepts to check out! Maybe if your family gets a chance, you could explore a local museum!
